Working with depression

You are not alone. It is estimated that one in three people will experience depression at some point in their life. However, statistics don’t help. When depression strikes, you can feel like you’re the only person in the world feeling like this. You’re left feeling detached and disconnected from the rest of the world.

My clinical experience was built largely working with clients suffering a range of depression diagnoses – from mild through to severe, and including Postnatel Depression (PND) and dysthymia (persistent depression). I understand both the mental and physical symptoms of depression. Importantly, I know that it’s not just a case of feeling down and that you cannot just “snap out of it.”

I believe that your diagnosis doesn’t define you; your depression is as unique as you are. Which is why we, together, spend time learning about your feelings, identifying triggers, looking at your past and devising a variety of coping mechanisms. I use a variety of approaches including Interpersonal Therapy – a NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence) approved therapy which is proven to effectively treat depression.

Believe in recovery. You are not alone. I’m here to help if you need me. Reaching out is sometimes difficult, but you just have to make the smallest connection to begin to receive help. To connect, simply click the below button to send me a message.
